This yam and poria cocos dog food is specially designed for dogs with weak stomachs, following the concept of "food as medicine" to care for your furry friend's health with natural ingredients.
Ingredient Preparation (Suitable for one meal of a 10kg dog)
Basic ingredients: 150g chicken breast (high-quality protein), 80g brown rice (slow-release carbohydrate energy), 50g carrot (vitamins), 50g broccoli (dietary fiber)
Herbal ingredients: 80g yam (invigorates spleen and nourishes stomach), 10g poria cocos (eliminates dampness and calms nerves), 5g lotus seeds (tonifies spleen and stops diarrhea)
Nutritional supplements: 3g eggshell powder (calcium supplement), 5ml linseed oil (Omega fatty acids)
Preparation Steps
1.Herbal pretreatment: Soak astragalus membranaceus and angelica sinensis in clean water for 20 minutes. Add 200ml of clear water, bring to a boil over high heat, then turn to low heat and cook for 15 minutes. Filter out the herbal juice and let it cool (discard the herb residues). Remove the cores of red dates and chop them for later use.
2.Ingredient cooking: Cut beef into small pieces, put them into cold water, add ginger slices to blanch and remove blood foam. Take them out, wash with clean water, then dice and cook until done. Peel the pumpkin, cut into small pieces, steam and mash it. Wash spinach, blanch it for 1 minute and then chop it. Soak oatmeal in warm water until there is no hard core.
3.Mixing and blending: Put all cooked ingredients into a large bowl, pour in the cooled herbal juice (reserve 10ml to add in two batches), add chopped red dates, goat milk powder and deep - sea fish oil, and stir well. Adjust the particle size according to the dog's age; for elderly dogs, it can be properly crushed.
4.Storage and feeding: Pack the prepared dog food into fresh - keeping boxes. It can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 days and in the freezer for no more than 7 days. Heat it to about 38℃ before feeding. The amount of each feeding should be controlled at 3% - 5% of the dog's weight to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort caused by overfeeding.
Scientific Feeding Tips
Choose sulfur-free dried products for herbs like poria cocos and yam, and strictly add them according to the weight proportion.
For the first feeding, it is recommended to try a small amount and observe the defecation for 3 consecutive days. Only feed normally after confirming no discomfort.
Dogs with hot constitutions should eat it no more than 3 times a week. Part of the yam can be replaced with winter melon to balance the medicinal properties.
If the dog is taking medication, feed it at least 2 hours apart to avoid interaction between herbs and drugs.
This dog food with Chinese herbal medicine has a natural fragrance. It can not only satisfy the dog's taste buds but also improve gastrointestinal function through gentle conditioning, making scientific pet care full of the warmth of traditional wisdom.
